psychologiCAL SERVICES
Dr. Markle offers integrative psychological services, including evidence-based practices for psychotherapy, such as Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, behavioral health management, skill-building, psychoeducation, and family consultation for optimal wellness and adjustment. She also helps patients with preventive/proactive health behaviors. She also has advanced training in nutrition, medical psychology, psychopharmacology (non-prescribing), as well as psychodynamic psychotherapies.
NUTRITION / INTEGRATIVE WELLNESS
Dr. Markle offers nutritional consultations, including suggested dietary goals, plans and possible supplement use to address acute and chronic concerns. Services also include special nutritional and lifestyle preparations for cancer treatment and surgical interventions. She also helps incorporate patient understanding of how nutrition affects cognitive functioning and overall health.
NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
Dr. Markle offers neuropsychological assessments with traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, spinal injuries, vascular disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and other neurological or health concerns, such as cancer and chemotherapy effects or nutritional deficiencies. Assessments determine the current level of cognitive ability and identify treatment targets. Dr. Markle also offers neurobehavioral assessments to help determine functional abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs) and safety.
Dr. Markle no longer conducts adult-onset ADHD assessments.
CAREGIVER STRESS
Dr. Markle also offers psychological support to the family systems that are affected by a loved one’s condition or concerns. Dr. Markle has an overall understanding of medical status, course of illness or disability, and the affects on the patient and family.
PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
Dr. Markle offers psychological assessments of mood conditions, personality traits and behavioral tendencies to assist with diagnostic clarity, and better determine how psychosocial factors may affect treatment adherence and daily living.
CONSULTATION
Dr. Markle is also available for family and practitioner consultations on treatment considerations based on psychological or neuropsychological results.
TRAINING
Dr. Markle provides specializing training and programs in hospitals, graduate classrooms, and practitioner practices. Examples of programs include recovering from a health event, stroke education for patients and caregivers, behavior management for optimal patient care in stressful hospital situations, and the course of traumatic brain injury recovery, among others. She is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer with the Brain Injury Association of America.
